Railway Ministry avoids detailing ₹9,470 crore allocation for Andhra projects

What the government said

• Budget allocation for infrastructure projects in Andhra Pradesh increased from ₹886 Cr./year (2009-2014) to ₹10,134 Cr. (2026-2027).
• As of 01.04.2026, 42 projects (12 New Line, 30 Doubling) totaling 4,768 Km and costing ₹77,855 crore have been sanctioned.
• Expenditure incurred on these projects up to March 2026 is ₹27,851 crore, with 1,465 Km commissioned.
• Nadikudi-Srikalahasti New Line (309 Km) has a sanctioned cost of ₹3,407 crore, with ₹2,384 crore incurred to date.
• For the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti project, 1,330 Ha of land has been acquired by the State Government, with 929 Ha remaining.
• 74 stations in Andhra Pradesh are identified for development under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
• 8 stations in Andhra Pradesh (Cumbum, Eluru, Kakinada Town Jn, Mangalagiri, Nidadavolu Jn, Rayanapadu, Sullurpeta, Tuni) have completed development works under the scheme.
• Allocation of ₹12,774 crore was made for the last three financial years and current FY for station development in the five railway zones covering Andhra Pradesh, with ₹10,641 crore incurred up to June 2026.
