What the government said

• Central Government is implementing schemes including Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Rozgar, Aajeevika Mission, DDU-GKY, PM-SVANidhi, DAY-NULM, PMEGP, PM Vishwakarma, PLI Scheme, PMMUDRA, PMKVY, and PMVBRY to create employment near residence.
• The Ministry runs the National Career Service (NCS) Portal for job matching, career counselling, and skill development information.
• The UP State Government has initiated One district One product Yojana, Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana, Kaushal Vikas programs, Rojgar Mela, and increased minimum wages.
• The Inter-state Migrant Workmen Act, 1979, has been subsumed into the Occupational Safety, Health and the Working Conditions (OSH) Code.
• The OSH Code provides for decent working conditions, minimum wages, a toll-free helpline, PDS benefits, annual journey allowance, and eligibility for ESIC and EPFO benefits for migrant workers.
