What the government said

• Over 50 lakh households have benefited from the scheme since its launch in February 2024.
• ₹28,024.21 crore in Central Financial Assistance (CFA) has been released across the country as on 04.08.2026.
• In Bihar, 25,157 rooftop solar systems have been installed, benefiting 25,790 households, with ₹165.36 crore in CFA released.
• The scheme is demand-driven and accessible via the National Portal (www.pmsuryaghar.gov.in).
• Collateral-free loans are available from nationalized banks at a concessional interest rate of 5.75% per annum (repo-rate plus 50 bps) for a tenure of 10 years.
• A grievance redressal mechanism is operational via Call Centre 15555 in 12 languages.
• Technical feasibility requirements have been waived, and auto load enhancement up to 10 kW has been introduced.
