PM POSHAN beneficiaries in Telangana drop to 14,49,608, government tells Parliament

The question asked for details on funds sanctioned, released, and utilized under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Samagra Shiksha in Telangana since 2014, the status of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) proposals, and beneficiary numbers and quality measures for the PM POSHAN scheme. What the government said

• 736 KGBVs have been approved for Telangana, including 26 in Medak district.
• PM POSHAN beneficiary numbers in Telangana ranged from 14,49,608 (2025-26) to 21,05,268 (2022-23) over the last five years.
• Nutritional norms specified: 450 calories/12g protein for primary classes; 700 calories/20g protein for upper primary classes.
• Measures taken include supply of fine rice, eggs three times a week, Ragi Java three times a week, and regular quality monitoring.
• Year-wise financial data for SSA (2014-15 to 2017-18) and Samagra Shiksha (2018-19 to 2025-26) was provided in an annexure, showing central share approved, released, and total funds utilized.
