PLISFPI disburses ₹3,271.44 crore in incentives to 163 companies

The question asked the Ministry of Food Processing Industries to provide details on the status, investment, and employment generated by the Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLISFPI), the development of Mega Food Parks, and steps taken to promote food exports and modern technologies.

What the government said

• PLISFPI has an approved outlay of ₹10,900 crore for FY 2021-22 to FY 2026-27.
• 163 applications from 127 companies (including 69 MSMEs) are covered under the scheme across 22 states.
• Incentives of ₹3,271.44 crore have been disbursed up to June 2026.
• Approved applicants have invested ₹9,207 crore and generated approximately 3.35 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities.
• Sales of PLI-supported products increased from ₹58,758 crore in FY 2019-20 to ₹1,08,854 crore in FY 2025-26.
• 41 Mega Food Parks were approved in 25 states, with 25 currently operational.
• The Mega Food Park Scheme was discontinued with effect from 01.04.2021.
• Branding and Marketing incentives are provided at 50% of eligible expenditure, capped at 3% of sales or ₹50 crore per year.
• The PMFME Scheme provides a 35% credit-linked capital subsidy (max ₹10 lakh per unit) for micro food processing enterprises.
