PM E-DRIVE lacks state-wise Aadhaar delay data, government says

What the government said

• PM E-DRIVE is implemented on a pan-India basis with no state-wise allocation.
• Incentives are provided as upfront price reductions to buyers and reimbursed to OEMs by the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
• For FY 2025-26, Rs. 1,300 crore was allocated, Rs. 1,160.32 crore was utilized, and Rs. 169.06 crore in claims were pending as of 22/07/2026.
• For FY 2026-27, Rs. 1,500 crore was allocated and Rs. 139.43 crore was utilized as of 22/07/2026.
• Portal friction is attributed to network issues, anti-virus scanning, NIC maintenance, or Aadhaar authentication failures (e.g., unlinked mobile numbers or outdated biometrics).
• State-wise data on pending Aadhaar authentication cases is not maintained because unsuccessful attempts are not recorded as completed transactions.
• The number of pending subsidy disbursements for e-rickshaws and e-carts, including in Chhattisgarh, is NIL because the subsidy is passed on to the customer at the time of purchase.
• There is no proposal to implement auto-disbursement tranches or allow receivables factoring via TReDS.
