Government details natural farming support for Bastar and Chhattisgarh

What the government said

• National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) approved in Nov 2024; Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) implemented since 2015-16.
• In Bastar Lok Sabha Constituency (2023-24 to 2025-26), NMNF covered 7,600 hectares with 21,500 farmers, and PKVY covered 65,179 hectares with 15,381 farmers.
• NMNF provides an Output Based Incentive of ₹4,000 per acre per year for 2 years (up to 1 acre) and ₹2,100 per hectare for certification.
• PKVY provides assistance of ₹31,500 per hectare over 3 years, including ₹15,000 via Direct Benefit Transfer for inputs.
• Till date, 23,13,238 farmers have been supported under NMNF with an expenditure of ₹65,924.34 lakh.
• Till date, 36,38,043 farmers have been supported under PKVY and MOVCDNER with an expenditure of ₹37,03,53.02 lakh.
• More than 22.47 lakh farmers registered under the Natural Farming Certification System (NFCS), with 14.43 lakh certificates issued.
• Under PGS-India organic certification, 16.35 lakh hectares have been certified, benefiting 24.14 lakh farmers.
• For Chhattisgarh, ₹2023.86 lakh was approved in the Annual Action Plan for 2026-27 for the Shree Anna (millets) sub-mission under NFSNM.
• Processing and marketing of coarse grains in Bastar are being undertaken involving Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
