Supreme Court clearance pending for IMC Agra project

The question asked the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to state the progress, financial allocations, investment attraction, and employment generation related to industrial corridors in Uttar Pradesh, as well as measures to streamline clearances.

What the government said

• Government approved one Industrial Township (Greater Noida), two Integrated Manufacturing Clusters (Prayagraj, Agra), one Multi Modal Logistics Hub (Dadri), and one Multi Modal Transport Hub (Boraki).
• Total approved amount for these projects is ₹8,091 Crore.
• ₹1,795.84 Crore in equity funds has been released by NICDIT for these projects in UP.
• ₹323.09 Crore was released specifically for the IMC Prayagraj project in FY 2025-26.
• UP Government reported 33,068 registered factories employing approximately 38.09 lakh people, including over 2.09 lakh women.
• UP Government reported over 90 lakh MSMEs generating employment for more than 1.18 crore people.
• Single Window System clearance facility is provided by SPVs in industrial nodes.
• EIA Notification 2006 provisions were amended to exempt projects in approved industrial estates from public consultation and allow units with prior clearance to operate without separate clearance.
